RAISING GODLY CHILDREN : PASTOR OLUSEGUN OLUDIPE

Amazing  Ministration by PASTOR OLUSEGUN OLUDIPE.
    Theme : Raising Godly Children.
    Text: Galatian 3:16

Discipline is about instilling values and positive attitudes, teaching appropriate social skills and training children how to work within a structure of rules and limits (Morrish, 2003)

WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF MANKIND TO SAY IT IS GODLY?
    ·        Does not sit in the counsel of the ungodly
    ·        Meditates on it day and night
    ·        Walks uprightly and righteously

    HOW DOES GOD SEE CHILDREN?
    ·        His Heritage (Psalm 127:3)
    ·        His Kingdom base (Mt 19:14)
    ·        Plants grown up in their youths (Ps 144)

WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS THAT MAKE PARENTING TOUGHER ?
    ·        End time Syndrom (11Timothy 3:15)
    ·        More demands from both parents
    ·        Peer pressure
    ·        Social Media.
    ·        Electronics leading to more exposure

    HOW IS CHILD UNIQUE?

Each child is a unique individual with unique personal, social, and educational needs. As a result, every disciplinary situation becomes unique in nature. Consequences for misbehaviour provide the best learning value when matched to the unique child and the unique situation

    PARENTING KNOW HOW
Parenting is about promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, financial, spiritual and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. Parenting them for the future to fit into Gods plan. (The strong-willed, talkative, inquisitive, etc must be observed and ultimately moulded to fit into the plan of God)

    STYLES OF PARENTING
    ·     Authoritative: In this style of discipline, parents set clear rules for their children’s behavior but at the same time let their kids exercise independent judgment.
    ·     lax or permissive: As these names imply, parents set few rules for their children’s behavior and don’t discipline them when they misbehave.
    ·  Uninvolved discipline: Parents who practice this style generally provide their children little emotional support and fail to set rules for their behavior. This style of parenting is associated with antisocial behavior by children and other negative outcomes, especially when compared with authoritative parenting.

    HOW DO WE BUILD?
    ·        Intercede for the children
    ·        Lead them to Christ
    ·        Disciple them one by one to graduate as followers of Jesus
    ·        Bring the Word of God into all facets of schools
    ·        Prayers – with and for children Love and respect for the nation

In conclusion, The best strategy for raising teenagers is to love boldly by building a strong relationship with them as a parent (not as their peer.)
    ·  Let them know that even when they screw up-that they’re still loved unconditionally.
    ·        Express your love for them in words, touch and Time
